Sedimentary Rocks (said + i + men + tary)

Sedimentary rocks can be made up of small pieces of rock, called sediments, that have been worn down in one place and moved to another by water, wind, ice, or gravity. In time, these sediments are buried and crushed together to make sedimentary rocks. Sedimentary rocks cover about three quarters of the earth’s surface and make up 90% of Alberta’s bedrock surface (not where the Flintstones live).
