Wheeler Flats

Wheeler Flats was named for A.O. Wheeler (1860-1945), a Dominion Land Surveyor who worked on the Alberta-British Columbia Boundary Survey, as the representative for British Columbia. He was author of The Selkirk Mountains (1912) and The Selkirk Range (1905). The Alpine Club of Canada frequently refers to Wheeler Flats in its publications. The name was officially adopted 20 October 1983. (see Introduction)

Approximately 17 km south-west of Banff.
