Gas Heater for Range Boilers (Patent No: 255905)
Inventor: Lehman, Charles Lewis Location: Edmonton Comments: see above Description: Charles Lewis Lehman, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 1st December, 1925. Filed 24th November, 1924. Serial No. 297,166.
Claim.—1. In a gas heater for range boilers, a sheet metal structure, of a circular form and of two sections, the front section having perforations near the bottom, and pendulum disc to cover the said perforations, the bottom edges of the two half circular sections are wired for the stiffening of the structure, seamed to the upper edges, of the said half circular sections two receiving rings or conical tops, the four outer edges of the said conical tops are provided with eyelets, through which a threaded bolt is passed and draws the two half circular sections together and keeps them in close contact with the sides of the range boiler, the rear section of the half circular structure is provided with a vent, or outlet, which said vent or outlet is seamed to the outer side of the conical top, and is the means for the disposal of the gas fumes, the inner sides of the two half circular sections, and the conical top, are lined with asbestos paper for insulation.
2. In a gas heater for range boilers of two half circular sections with conical tops, and provided with eye-lets, and outlet, with the inner side covered with asbestos paper a gas burner of two sections and of half circular form each half circular burner working independently of the other, one end of the said burners bent at right angles, and inserted into mixers for the mixing of gas and air to form proper combustion, in combination with a mixer, a needle valve for the control of the gas, the said needle valves are threaded to a manifold consisting of a tee and elbow, the before-mentioned gas burners are perforated on the upper side for the outlet or gas jets.
3. In a gas heater for range boilers of two half circular sections with conical tops, and provided with eyelets and outlet, and inner side lined with asbestos paper, a gas burner of two sections and of half circular form, perforated on the upper side, one end of each burner bent at right angles, pas mixers, and valves, and manifold, a metal bracket for the support, of the half circular structure, and the burners, the said bracket has one end bent downwardly at right angles, a part of the downwardly projection is again bent up vertically forming a clamp, one side of the said clamp is perforated and the perforation threaded for a threaded bolt, when clamp is slid up over the edge at the base of the boiler, the brackets are held in fixed position by the means of the threaded screw, the horizontal projection of the said bracket has the end bent at right angles and this angle stands vertically, and is the means employed to hold the circular structure in a fixed position and spaced from the boiler, four of the said brackets are used for each.
