Mr. Domenico Chiarello bought the "Venice Grocery" store which was located near the immigration hall.  As a result of this proximity, Mr. and Mrs. Chiarello often helped Italian immigrants newly-arrived in Edmonton.

Typical of many Italian families that emigrated, the Chiarello's arrived at different times, the father arriving first to prepare the way for the remainder of his family.
