UWinnipeg Ensures Safety & Security on Campus for Students, Faculty & Staff

The University of Winnipeg worked together with the UWSA and UWinnipeg administration, faculty and staff to keep the University community informed and up to date on the implementation of new security measures on campus last week. UWinnipeg continues to collaborate with the Winnipeg Police Service to investigate the threat found on a washroom wall Sept. 19. Classes and business at The University of Winnipeg are back to normal with enhanced security measures in place.

Dr. Marsha Hanen, former University of Winnipeg President and former President of the Sheldon Chumir Foundation for Ethics in Leadership and currently Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at the University of Victoria, announced Sept. 16 at the Homecoming Presidents' Brunch her gift of $200,000 to establish The University of Winnipeg Marsha Hanen Global Dialogue and Ethics Program.

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) 2nd annual poster competition had 18 top-notch undergraduate science students present their research on September 10, 2007. This is a privilege normally reserved for graduate students at other universities but an opportunity shared with the undergraduates at The University of Winnipeg.
