Celebrating Our 40th:
UWinnipeg Sponsored Moose Game

In celebration of UWinnipeg's 40th Anniversary in 2007, The University of Winnipeg sponsored the January 17 Moose Game--the Manitoba Moose VS. San Antonio Rampage.

UWinnipeg alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends joined together to cheer on the Moose and to celebrate the University's proud history. A great evening was made even better with a win for the Moose, who won their season-high sixth straight game, beating the San Antonio Rampage 4-1.

As sponsors of the Moose Game the University received a commemorative plaque at the start of the event. From left to right, Moose Team Captain Mike Keane with University President Lloyd Axworthy, Alumni Council President Jason Pusiewich and Chris Dant of the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club.


VolunteersVolunteers
Student volunteers handed out UWinnipeg postcards and helped staff the display booth. The evening’s volunteers included (in alphabetical order) Darren Pettipas, Erika Jonasson, Erin Parcey, Ian Alexander, Isabelle Yo Wai Man, Kaylee Woodward, Kent Sukovief, Lysa Molcan, Mary McClean, Reino Jarvinen, and Rhea Bartsch. Thank you to everyone for their efforts!

UWinnipeg had a strong presence at the game with a staffed booth offering info about the University and its upcoming Chantal Kreviazuk concert. Staffer Mark Bezanson and student volunteer Kaylee Woodward helped greet attendees and updated alumni records.
