Plan Your Winnipeg

The University of Winnipeg, in partnership with the Winnipeg Free Press, the University of Manitoba, and Red River Community College recently launched the "Plan Your Winnipeg" contest  to elicit creative ideas from local youth to improve and enhance Winnipeg.

Aimed at children and youth up to age 24, the contest is open to submissions from individuals, groups, or schools. Young Winnipeggers are encouraged to tackle tough urban issues such as downtown revitalization, sustainable buildings, innovative housing projects, and transportation solutions-or come up with their own concept of what will forever change the city.

If an idea is selected as a finalist, it will be placed in the hands of urban planning experts to bring the ideas to life through blueprints or scale models. Contest finalists will then be given a chance to present- and promote-their innovative ideas to a group of representatives from The University of Winnipeg, The University of Manitoba, Red River Community College, and the Winnipeg Free Press.
