Description James MacGregor 2010-07-19 12:41:44 PDT
Allow for author names (metadata) to be entered in multiple languages. This seems to have been requested many times (http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5060; http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4313&p=24442#p24442) and I thought that maybe I'd already added a feature request, but I can't find one.

Not only author names should be in multiple languages but also their affiliation
Comment 2 Alec Smecher 2010-12-14 11:27:01 PST
Regarding comment #1: Affiliations are already localized as per bug #5550 (since OJS 2.3.3).

Reassigning to 2.3.7 due to another request.
Comment 6 Alec Smecher 2011-11-24 21:22:35 PST
Just a heads-up: this might well be too invasive for a stable release.

Thanks, Alec. It's been requested often enough though that even if it were available in -master (and potentially back-portable to -stable) I think a fair number of folks would be very happy.
Comment 8 Matthew Crider 2011-11-25 11:12:40 PST
Taking ownership as I have a patch for this, though it will need some work to get it into stable, and probably could use some polish.

Putting a link to my patch up and deferring to 2.4 (though it will likely be deferred again): https://github.com/mcrider/ojs/commit/52373a9bddd9527889787fa26590813e9b412c8e

This feature has been deferred for a long long time!
Do you have a version in mind that may have resolved this bug?
Comment 12 Alec Smecher 2015-01-02 09:26:01 PST
This hasn't yet been prioritized for a specific release, but I'd say it's very unlikely to be implemented for OJS 2.x; it'll become a higher priority after OJS 3.0 is released.
