Forum (Romanum or Magnum)
Multipurpose civic space and symbolic center of the city
Reconstructed state: Building as first dedicated on site

Reconstruction issues

None

There are no major issues because the pavement is well preserved and was carefully studied by Cairoli Giuliani, a member of the Scientific Committee, in the book he co-authored with P. Verduchi ( F. Cairoli Giuliani, P. Verduchi, L'area centrale del Foro Romano [Florence 1987]).

The plaza consists of travertine pavers of irregular size bound together with iron cramps covered with lead. The pavers rest on earlier paved levels of the Forum.
