As I put the finishing touches on an article for this newsletter, I received the words above from a delightful, faith-filled, first-year teacher education student enrolled in our introductory course. Megan’s words resonated with me as I recalled the first glimpse of Our Holy Father, Pope Francis I. His humble, authentic words and prayer certainly conveyed his sense of love and hope for our Church! We join in his request for prayers for him and for his work and leadership, and we are renewed and inspired to promote the work of Catholic education.

This issue of our newsletter, first and foremost, reminds you about the upcoming Catholic Education Summit on July 12, 2013. Our theme this year is Urban Catholic Education: Meeting the Needs of ALL Learners. Participants will enjoy opportunities to learn and network through the choice of five of twenty-five different presentations being offered. Topics range from mission and Catholic identity, to governance and leadership, to academic excellence, to operational vitality. Please join us on campus or through the virtual conference center.

We are also pleased to share with you stories of Lalanne, the Urban Child Development Resource Center, recent scholarship and research, and our recent Professional Development Day for teachers and principals in the Miami Valley region of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati! As always, thank you for your interest in and support of our work!
