Greetings from North Central Texas 4 Months ago
Have just acquired a 2005 Silverado 1700. First Yamaha. Been a Harley rider for the past 20 years. Not dissatisfied with Harley's, more of a repair a blown 2004 Ultra tranny or spend the same amount on the Road Star. 1 year newer, 102ci vs. 88ci, almost 400pounds lighter. Pretty much a no brainer for me. Already researching ways to "make it mine". Thanks for having this old scooter tramp. Won't be of much help to anyone until I learn the bike. But you can ask anyway.

Re:Greetings from North Central Texas 4 Months ago
from Richardson, Texas. I have a good friend in Alvarado who has four H-Ds (down from five) , half of which are streetable. He opted to get a Yamaha 950T, due to cost/reliability issues, plus he only ever filled the gas tanks on his Harleys half way.... claimed filling them made the bike top heavy.(doesn't have that problem with the smaller Yamaha, tho'. He told me that the '07 R*Midnight I bought was the bike Harley should have made all along. Check the archives and ask your questions - most people on this forum are friendly, and some of them are quite helpful (besides, we only have ONE model to contend with!).
