You should be able to put the H3 bulbs in the stock lights as well I think there are kits for it. You need the kit to handle the heavy electrical load on them. BTW Stay safe over there and thanks for your sevive from an old Vietnam Vet.

Re; fuel gauge 99 rode* 6 Years, 3 Months ago
So I searched the forum for my problem. I want to make sure of my options to try.

Problem: I turn key on. speedo and fuel dials do the movement over to the right and back. My fuel gauge would then usually go over to my correct level. Now it does not move at all after the initial swing.

I don't have any blinking lights, and my speedo works fine. it was working one day next day,then the next nada. All my fuses are good, connections are good(going to double check again). nothing look's pinched.

Only thing i have not done yet is un-plug the battery. Is this my only option left?

RSC can solve your problem but it will have to be posted in the right area, someone will move it I suppose.
Put gas in it, wait until 10 minutes of riding.

Re:Aux light Problems? 3 Years, 9 Months ago
I am having a problem with turn signals but I am new at this and do not know where to post.

I recently was on a road trip and the weld broke away that was holding my aux light bar up. Some wires got pulled out and shorted and popped the fuse. I had all the wires looked at and repaired and when I put a new fuse back in I can hear the flasher ticking,but I have no signals front,back or in the instrument panel.Has not popped the fuse again either.Can someone give me some tips before I have to run this in the shop and spend alot of money for possibly a simple fix......could this be the flasher relay or a ground issue......any help would be appreciated!

Aux light bar, passing lamp replacement.
I am unfortunately having to replace my passing light bar due to some " unforeseeable circumstance " and have a question concerning the wiring for the turn signals. The new OEM light bar is prewired for the lights but not the turn signals. I'm replacing one of them (left front turn signal and housing ) for cosmetic reasons but need help with the re-wiring of them in order for proper operation. I believe there are 2 wires that traverse the "housing" on the light bar and then run to the head light housing for connecting to the harness. I'm just not sure about the configuration of the routing to ensure that all works well when completed.
Any postings or videos that you have to share on this would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to avoid taking it to the shop for this.

As for the colors, I found this in another post...

black = ground
blue = run
green = right flash
brown = left flash

Is that enough to get you going?

There are a red and an orange wire that runs between the turn signals, then into the bucket.

Anyone know a nice, good quality on/off switch replacement that is waterproof?
I have had nothing but trouble with the light bar wiring on my 2007 Midnight star. Rewired it this year. Works but the switch melted. Never going to forgive Yamaha for using aftermarket supplier for this...
