Re:RAIDER rear wheel swap 3 Years, 4 Months ago
I think the main reason people use the roadstar hub is because when they buy the raider wheel it doesn't come with a hub.
I got a hub/pulley/wheel/rotor from a raider for a great price. The hubs are identical. I machined one of the hubs and the raider pulley... only to find out the raider pulley is a few teeth smaller than the roadstar's dammit! Roadstar belt was loose as hell on it. I then got another pulley and hub off ebay cheap so I'm going to machine that pulley now.

This will all be mounted this winter.

There's a few ways to do this mod and when I measured up the stock hub and once i saw how much material i would need to remove to have the pulley sit deeper/lower on the hub it tried something different. I opened up the inner hole on the pulley to about 2.5" and then was able to leave more meat on the hub as it was turned down.

hope that makes sense.

I've got mine on and all set up. Just need to duct tape some rear lights on and put around the block a few times to see how it all feels.

If you decide you don't want that smaller rear pulley I know of several people here who will gladly take it off your hands!

That's the rear pulley off my roadstar.

I seem to have a bunch of extra stuff lying around after all this. haha I think I have two hubs, a raider pulley, a roadstar pulley, a stryker front rotor, and a rear raider wheel.

(I can't get on photosharing sites from work... I'll try to post some pics tonight.)

The job isn't done right unless you have extra parts.
