When I did my forks I didn't take pictures because I couldn't get them as good as JD's were on his post. http://roadstarclinic.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,187/func,view/id,830175/catid,49/limit,10/limitstart,0/ This post covers just about everything you would need to know for the Racetech spring install.. I used this after JD's help and everything came out beautiful!

As far as the fluid goes. I opened the fork tubes up and tipped them over into drain pans (making sure to catch the spring on its way out or pull it out before tipping the fork over). I pumped the fork several times to help drain all the old fluid out. I then poured some cheap atf in there and worked them several more times and dumped and repeated the process a few times to clean out the lower chamber real good. Then we hung them to drip empty while we went and had the lower bearing pressed on. ' width='200' border='0' style='max-width:450px; ' />.

Otherwise, follow the thread I copied as far as measuring the fluid level and reassembly with the spacers. I switched to 10w oil when I did this and used the 120mm fluid depth that JD and I discussed. Also, I ordered the springs that JD linked in that thread from Amazon and they came with an aluminum tube to cut as a spacer.' width='200' border='0' style='max-width:450px; ' /> Worked great! Good luck!!

Do you remember the length you cut the spacers to?

When it came to the spacers, I got slightly worried. I had talked to JD before hand and his spacers were around 11". When doing mine, my spacers were a little over 9" and got me at the same preload as his. He however did emulators as well where I just left mine stock. I am not sure the exact measurement anymore but it was around 9.5". You want 3/4" of preload when all is said and done if you're using racetech springs.

Not all of the Race Tech spring families are consistent lengths. The RATE is the primary criteria. To get 3/4" preload, put your spring and 2 washers (one will be on each end of your spacer in the final stack up) in the fully extended tube. Slide your measuring tape down to the top end of the spring. Take your reading at the top edge of the tube. Boom, that's your spacer length to achieve 20mm (close enough to 3/4" preload. If you are using emulators. Same thing, just install the emulators in the tube first and make sure it is sitting right on top of the damper rod.
