#1024712 Shores (User) Go getchur scooter! Platinum Boarder Posts: 6961 Oil drainage and clutch spring replacement? 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago   I’m going to install a new EBC clutch spring. I recently changed my oil so I plan to drain it into a clean container and re use it. Do I need to drain all four quarts or can I just drain what is in the engine? If I do this, will the oil tank oil seep into the clutch area with the bike leaning on the kick stand?   Logged     The west is the best - Jim Morrison Photo by GreenMachine   The administrator has disabled public write access. #1024715 ctkog (User) Expert Boarder Posts: 523 Re:Oil drainage and clutch spring replacement? 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago   Shores I drained the engine oil from the front left drain port, put in my EBC spring with no leak down from the tank. when I was done ran it the 20 -30 seconds like a normal oil change then poured the captured oil into the tank. You should be fine on the kickstand but you might have an easier time with the kickstand sitting on a 2x4. Mine was a little out of flat on the countertop when I bought it, and am wondering if that could be causing some of the slippage I'm still having with my 1700. Have about 35k on the bike so wondering too if the PO may have road the clutch hard and the discs are just gettin thin.
