Re:Seat Latch Tool. 3 Years, 6 Months ago
I know this an old thread but I wanted to chime in and say I had the dreaded seat latch stuck problem and was freaked out about it. I got on here and found this thread on how to make the tool and in no time I had my seat off. This site is awesome and has helped me out more than once. Thanks to all who makes this site work.

I attached a black steel fishing leader to my latch and it hangs down under the seat. Since it's dark and small diameter it's hard to see. I don't use the key latch anymore.

Getting the seat loose with the key is somewhat of a "dark art", but if you get it once, then practice it a few times, you'll find it's easy. Best to practice when you don't have to remove it. You'll be amazed how much more patience you'll have.
