I don't think they'll ever have the longevity of interest shown to some things that go varoom.

Who knows? Maybe, Mike Wolf’s daughter will take over the reins of antiquing and run across an old Road Star in a barn in Kansas 50 years from today and the producers will want to make a show about getting it in running order. That is, if gasoline is still around.

If that happens in 50 years the crankshaft will probably be seized in the main bearings. If we come up with a fix now for what might be that future issue with the 1 they find in the barn they will also have to find and old thread on what used to be the RSC to find said fix.

If I could find someone to rebuild the rack & pinion in a 1964 Citroen DS19M Saloon 40 years after the last one rolled off the assembly line, I'm sure someone will be able to fix a main bearing on a Roadstar in 2058.

This fits in here, right? I mean, I can make this fit in here ... right?

Speaking of obscurities, My Dad's looking for a late 1940's Tatra to restore. It's gotta be the air cooled 2 stroke V-8 with the big fin down the back.
