Highway Hawk wishbone handle bars 3 Weeks, 1 Day ago
Hi there, Just bought some wish bone bars. Where the original bars have a hole drilled in them to locate a pin in the throttle assembly these new bars don't.Would it be okay to file the pin off and not bother trying to drill a hole in the new bars?
Thanks,Ian

I drilled the hole in my new bars, I think it was an 1/8" drill bit, thunk it with a center punch to start, there pretty easy to drill. I used to ride one where the controls rolled some, gets old.

Thanks for the reply. I did wonder as I've had lots of bikes where the bars weren't drilled.I will take the time to drill them

The first time I switched bars I drilled a hole. The next time I ground the pin down and haven't had them move.

I'm not sure I would want wishbone handlebars. Isn't it supposed to be good luck to break a wishbone and get the biggest side?

OK, I see. Back in the day we called those welded pullback drag bars. Same thing, different name. It's like pot, used to be Acapulco Gold, Columbian, Thi Stick. Now there's Green Crack, Alien Bubba, and a zillion other weird names.
