who here plays with nitrous on cars?? 2 Weeks, 6 Days ago
im looking at nitrous kits for my car looking at a wet kit in particular so that i get the extra needed fuel without special tuning. im not looking for a mega shot or nothing but a 75hp-100hp range is wanted. i wonder if i need to worry about taking away some timing for the shot or not from what i seen i should take 3 or 4 degrees out but others say up to 75hp is fine without.

I had a dead stock '79 Trans Am with a 403 big block Olds motor in it. (403 Olds for the automatic, 400 Pontiac for the 4 speed trans) It had everything except for the silver anniversary package. I got ahold of an older NOS Super Power Shot system. It was adjustable from I think 75 to 150 hp shots. I put in the 150 jets and ran a lot through that motor. Never hurt a thing. Only thing I've seen with kits is that some idiots don't read the dam instructions. Twit I got the kit from put the bigger jet on the nitrous side and it was running too lean.

I'm assuming your talking about the new Dodge, so basing my answer on that...

With computer controlled timing and a 100 Hp or less, you shouldn't have to make any changes at all as that is within computer self adjustment area. If it starts to knock, it will self retard.

Cool, yeah i was talking for the new 392 charger. Might pull the trigger on a $800 kit from nitrous outlet with a 10 lbs bottle. Wonder how many hits i get on a bottle at 75hp and how much a fill is guess i can look into that

nope, those run with alcohol mixed with nitromethane, quite different than nitrous oxide.

I ran a 250 shot in my jet boat, does that count

I am fairly certain you wont need any retard for a 75 to 100 hp shot. The engine builder who helped set mine up only recommended it after 150 hp.
