Holy crap Jim! ...I've been *casually* checking in with the RSC lately, not really staying on top of all the goings on as of late, so I'm just now getting around to reading this and all I can say is WOW... That is just all kinds of awesome! I'm completely happy for you; you really are living the dream! This is just great... I look forward to hearing about your endeavors and seeing the fruits of your labors. It makes *so* much sense... I wish you all the best and know you'll be successful. BIG thumbs up!

[Update] Just checked out the website... DAAAUM! That's quite the operation. And yah, is that inventory all yours or are those consignment sales?

Just wanted to share with my RCS family....
Yesterday, I made a life choice. As many of you are aware, I walked away from my corporate life on June 3 of this year. 30+ years as an insurance executive over operations of some of the large payors in the game. I had become unhappy and simply was VERY unhappy with life (in general). I took a "time-out" per-se.
I've raised my family, educated my kids, and no longer had the need/drive to continue doing something that I simply didn't enjoy very much. It became a challenge to show up and grind out a work week. To say my heart wasn't in it would be a grand understatement.
So, for the last 5 months I rode my bike and lived the dream. 8,000 miles in 1 month put a smile on my face that I will never regret.
With that, I listened to my heart on what I wanted to do for the next 10 years...
For the last month or so, I have been deeply involved in a negotiation to purchase a motorcycle customizing company. Yesterday, we closed the deal. I am so excited to move forward with this that I'm giddy with excitement. I have a thousand things running through my mind and can't wait for tomorrow and the next, and the next, and the next to do something that I was always daydreaming about before.
I own the company outright. It's mine. (Holy crap, I can't believe I did it!)

Check out the bikes. I already have two builds paid for that will be completed in November.
I'm sharing this with my RSC family simply because I know everyone here will share my excitement. It's a big move and one that I'm 1,000% going to love.
Thanks for letting me share this with you.
What??? im moving to Wisconsin lol dude that is awesome! Im gonna call you next week!!!

I just read this last night.
That looks like a pretty impressive place that you bought. I wish you the best of luck with it.
I know many of us would like a career change, myself included. For you to leave your job, take a break to do some riding, and whatever else you wanted, and then go back to work as your own boss and doing something that you want to do IS the american dream. Most of (myself included again) don't have the skill, financial ability, or the guts to do what you are doing.
Please keep us updated on how things are going with the new shop. I hope you find the satisfaction that you are searching for in your new journey.

Wow, Jim, this is awesome news! Sorry I haven't been around the forum much or chatting with you, been pretty busy with getting married and the new family and all I'm happy that you took the dive. Changing your path in life is a very difficult decision to make but also very exciting. This is something that I wish I was financially stable enough to do. My dream too is to have a motorcycle customizing shop. I wish you great success with your new business. I truly hope that it brings you happiness and enough money to pay the bills and have some play money left over Should shoot me a text or a call sometime. I'd love to check the shop out!
