You can pull the float bowl off the carburetor while and carburetor is still on the bike normally I will click on the fuel pump with the ignition and hold my hold up float up with my finger to make sure the float assembly and the float base are not leaking which will make it flood

Did you swap out the needle and seat, or just clean it? The seat half, has an oring that seals it in place. If that starts leaking, then it'll let fuel into the bowl. It could be why the bike started after the carb was just put back, but won't run right now.

only things I did not replace on the needle set was diaphragm and emulsifier. It is running, just running like it was. The slightest throttle or enricher and it chugs and dies. if I rev very slow and get any throttle out of it in a few seconds of light rev and it coughs. And this time when it started it spit gas at me from the carb throat.

That's not the needle and seat I was speaking of. I'm talking about the float valve.

Oh yeah, That was a complete replacement. inspected the float and salvaged it but everything else including screws were replaced.

OK. hahah, I am terrible at quitting. I made a command decision and just wanted to see a change. So, I busted out my pilot jet and metal bore, and opened that bad boy up. Result, its revving! I can throttle all day and it works, but, as I expected and you all thought the second I said it, its burning rich as shizz. So I want to get a nice three pack of larger jets. But I want to pick them up if possible because I'm sick of this project. lol

What sizes should I get with intentions of stage 3 or complete V&H pipe set, big air air box, pumpless, and AIS removal?

The previous owner swore it ran like a dream before parking it. Trusting him I took out factory size jets, so I put in the same ones I removed. That I have to go bigger to run at all, me thinks the previous owner was not being 100% truthful about his ride.

I tried that once, decided after covering myself in gas I should just stick to taking the whole thing off.

Let me know where you get your jets, I am going to change mine to 172.5 Main And 40 Pilot jet. Only way I know to get them is by ordering online.
You might want to check with Cycle Gear, there is one in Gastonia and Matthews. They have jet kits online, I don't know if they stock them in the store.

Jets aren't going to cure whatever is ailing your bike right now. With your set up, it should require the enricher to start, and some amount of enrichment until the bike is warmed up enough to run on its own, if, your not aggravating the issue by playing with the throttle.
That it starts without the enricher is problematic, unless your twisting the throttle like a madman, to get the accel pump to keep squirting fuel into the carb throat to supply the fuel the bike needs to run, when it's cold.

These bikes are notoriously cold blooded. They generally need some amount of enrichment for as much as 5 to 10 miles, depending on temps and where you ride.
If your pulling the enricher full out, and it's staying there, and, you're not messing with the throttle to get the bike to start, it should fire right off. If it doesn't, and the bike starts fine without the enricher at all and your not messing with the throttle, then you are getting to much fuel from somewhere, ,

These bikes aren't Maserati's. If you're blipping the throttle(revving) like a happy teenager, they will spit at you. It's a CV carb. If the enricher is on at the initial start, and you roll the throttle,...because "isn't that what bikers do?"....... it'll die. When you roll the throttle with the enricher on, you destroy the vacuum the enricher needs to supply the fuel. Yes, the enricher supplies that much extra fuel. That's why it's called an enricher, and not a choke. Leave the throttle completely alone on a cold start with the enricher on,....as in, ...don't touch it.

Even on a fully warmed up Roadie, blipping the throttle will cause the carb to cough(spit) back at you.

If the idle is set to low, then your off idle experience will be lacking, as well as the start sequence. The proper idle setting, is where the bike gets the air it needs.

Where you are now jetting wise, the bike should run fine. It won't perform to its full potential performance wise, but it should run well enough to make 75% of people tickled to death. The plugs should end up almost white after a couple hundred miles of riding. The way it sounds now, you can't even get the bike to the point of fully warmed up, and you're trying to diagnose plug color.

Neither pumpless or removing the AIS, will affect your jetting. If it is still the stock single groove needle in the carb, then you want to purchase a kit with a replacement multi groove needle. I usually recommend the Barons kit, because it comes with Mikuni jets. It'll have a multi groove needle, as well.

IMHO, you should get the bike to run dependably and reliably first, and then start trying to improve its performance. As stock, these bikes will run well enough to impress the average joe.

I know you've got a lot of other advise and it seems as though your done. I've had some carbs that were varnished up so bad, you couldn't get them clean just spraying carb cleaner and or letting them soak. I have the luxury of owning an ultrasonic cleaner. This is the ultimate way to clean out all of the passages. With the ultrasonic action and heat, the carb will come out like new. You may think you cleaned out every orifice, but you could of missed something. I had a set of carbs off of an old Honda 750 that the floats were all stuck and all orifices plugged solid, I just couldn't get them cleaned until I cleaned them in the Ultrasonic bath.

Good lord I just wrote up a response and the computer puked and lost it.

Short story. Its running. It was my fault. But I figured it out. My dumb ass had somehow missed that I had swapped the cap with the main jet. ugh. I wont get into haw dumb I felt having opened up that carb like 11 times or more and never even picked up on it. Had I been able to put up pictures I bet every one of you would have seen it immediately.

But now that I'm riding I have two new questions.

I have two sounds I am not sure are ok.
1 is a humming in the low left. I cant tell if its in the tranny area or if its the front sprocket. It is only with throttle. As soon as I let go of the throttle it stops.

2 is in the front wheel. I thought it was the bearings because when I lean at all I get a sensation in the grips that can only be described as metal on metal rubbing. I pulled the front off and the bearings are like new. They are clean, spin freely with no sounds or feeling of dirt, they smell brand new, not sulfur odor or burning. I'm baffled. But as I said when I'm upright no sensation. lean either way and I feel it. I still get nervous about it as I realy don't want to lose my front end in anyway rolling down the road. I was wondering if it could be my rotor rubbing the breaks as when I spun the wheel to check it when I put it back on they rubbed. But who knows. I'm the dumb ass that didn't notice he capped his main jet.

Does anyone recognize these sounds?

Also I think I'm still running rich but I'm 2mm above the joint line. I took off my pipes and ran headers only to hear it and I was back firing like a champ. I mean the kind that make you smile. Big cracks. Loved it. but I put my pipes back on for now until I can get some longshots.

By the way I am flat in love with this bike. Best bike ever. I do think I am missing power from it though. Like it doesn't have that 1600 big ass feel on the throttle. My brothers road king has less ci but he feel like he has throttle all day. I'm wondering if I'm still not dialed in.

Man while I'm here, is porting the manifold really that worth it. I mean is it worth the effort without other mods to go with it? Do you really notice a difference?

Now that I'm running I'm wanting to get all shes got out of her. It just feel like she has more power than I'm getting from it.
