Replace your Rear Brake Pads 7 Years, 7 Months ago

This thread discusses the Content article: Replace your Rear Brake Pads

Sounds like very good advice to replace your rear pads at 30k as mentioned in the article, which by the way is a very well written and documented piece.

Anyway I hit 36k and then heard that familiar metal on metal sound and new I had worn through a pad. Turns out both pads were ground down to the metal.

I picked up some of the EBC HH sintered pads and using the tech article was able to change them out in about two hours. It took me a little longer to get it done because I tried to do it without removing my rear/top exhaust pipe. Once I realized it had to come off the process went a hell of a lot faster.

The pads are very quiet compared to the OEM pads that were on there and as, also, stated in the article the front pads still have plenty of life in them. I guess the dual system up front works out to be about twice the pad life.

Great article and if you are nearing 30k take a peek at your rear pads if they are the originals.
