If it's a hit and miss kinda thing, you may have a touch of SVS.. hold a piece of paper (a buck will do) in front of the exhaust pipe, If the pipe tries to suck up the buck, you have a stuck valve...........

He had a bad reading on a coil

well no luck with getting the coils. Called 3 shops and none of them stock the coils, front or rear, 1600 or 1700. So now im SOL

If you have to order them just order the new pt # for a 1600. As far as the 1600-1700 fitment, think about it like this If the old # was the same that means they fit both bikes. If there was a physical change in design for the new part number it wouldn't fit either bike because it would be different than the original coils that fit both bikes. Also if you look up aftermarket coils the fitment is the same for both 1600&1700 bikes
