Kuryakyn Plug and Play run-turn-brake controller 9 Years ago
Does anyone have the Kuryakyn plug and play run-turn-brake-controller installed on their Road Star? I like the idea of having increased visibility to the rear of the bike, especially at night. Any opinions on this topic would be greatly appreciated!!!

You talking about this?

If so I do, I love it, very bright, gigantic safety feature. Easy hook up great directions. But, don't take apart the signals like they want you to, I did one side like that, took 1.5 hour second side I fished the wire with a small stiff wire and tool 10 minutes. $100 at Yami store what I paid.

I installed one in 2007 and it is a major safety improvement IMO.It is an easy install took hmmmmm 10 minutes.I did as most do and got the extra load equalizer.I also replaced the amber bulb with a red one in the turn signals or you can get a red lens.Make sure you use a good fit on those lens screws when removing them they bugger real easy.Do a search with "Kury RTB controller" and you will get some reading on the subject....Coug

A very good idea..it also has a back off feature that flashes the rear tailight and turn signals three times and then go steady .... if you dont like it... then just unplug the flash tab

A pic with just running lights clear bulbs and red lenses..see how bright the signal lights are compared to the LED Tailight until the brakes are applied

Then with brake applied

you will probably need the extra load equalizer or the lights will flash too fast...

I've got that setup too and recommend it.

In case you don't know. In the U.S. you cannot run amber running lights on the rear. Be warned that the silver/red bulbs that are out there are not very bright in case you consider buying a set.

Some guys get a set of red bulbs and file off one of the tabs. Others paint their lenses red and run clear bulbs.

Here's a link to a past thread on the subject.

I put it on and think it should come standard from the factory. I added LED Silver Bullets and it really lights up to the rear. Noticeable effect on the cagers thats for sure. I set it so it does the triple blink before it stays on when you pull the brake lever. That wakes them up to.

I also think a Stebel horn should be required.

Bright and loud works (not sure about loud pipes, they might hear you but you might not hear them so kind of a wash in my experience).

I have it on order right now and look forward to getting it. I agree that this should be a factory setup. If they switched the taillight to LED then they obviously realize the need for increased visibility at the rear.

yes, I installed it last year. Very cool and adds tremendously to your visibility. I use the flash setting. Very easy install.
