#761900 dabe1800 (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 40 Will Not Start 3 Years, 10 Months ago   Cannot get my 2000 RS to start. I have a new battery installed. When I hit the start switch it makes a click sound around the engine area. Not at the starter & not at the relay. Any suggestions? As for the clicking noise, that isn't the starter or relay, is it on the right side of the bike? Take a heavy wire and go directly from the battery positive to the starter. With the key on touch the wires and see if she turns over, this will determine if it's the starter. The battery has 12.5 volt charge. it drops to 12.2 volts when ignition is turned on. when I hit the start button it drops to 12 volts. The clicking is coming from the right side it seems. I haven't had the battery load checked. I thought me measuring voltage while hitting the start button would be about the same?   Logged       The administrator has disabled public write access.
