Re:horsepower? 8 Years, 7 Months ago
Cruiser's just don't have that much power. Fine by me, the 60-70 is plenty enough for what the bike does...cruise.

I had a sport bike (R1) with 150hp or so and hundreds of pounds lighter. Well I traded it in for a roadie....and I am putting on between 2 to 3 times more miles a month than before. It pulls nice and riding on the highway is actually enjoyable.

IMO a cruiser needs torque down low, broad power...but it doesn't need to have really high hp...I am not winding this thing out, I could care less about the juice about 4k.

Same HP as a 1958 VW Bug X2 should be pretty close.
I can tell you the Roadie will pull a trailer better than a old Bug will.
Put stud tire on the back and use it to pull stumps.

No, It was strictly MPH and HP, I really wanted to see the torque but for $15 I guess that's what you get. It was similar to at least one newer Harley that ran, maybe blackroadie can chime in, but there was a Venture that was in the nieghborhood too.

BTW - Tusler, I had a '68 same displacement as my bike. I think the bugs were all in the 30s or 40s weren't they?

B.T.W. Hllywd, nice meetin' you...you left before I could say goodbye. Not to bad you gained about 10 hp right? Yes the newer stock harleys were right there too. I was impressed with that Triumph rocket 3... 131 h.p. lol they sound like a Ford diesel pickup, with stacks in the bed. I wanted to do my bike but I would like to see the torque numbers. I'm gonna call them and see about having it done sometime , I'm curious since I put the factory jets and needle back in. I'm only running the Cobras and a po' man BAK. But it seems like it pulls harder and runs better than ever..and I'm averaging 43 mpg.

Nice meeting you too! I never did find your bike before we left and I though you went first... I though some of the results were interesting, but I'd still like to see a more in-depth run. I'd really like to see a torque number. When we were leaving they were running a crotch rocket, dunno what it was, but it was the only one I saw the assistant from Thiels turn his head and plug his ears. From where we were parked it sounded like standing next to a jet dryer, wicked sound!

The crotch rocket to beat on the board was at 151 h.p. They did have a Harley in a trailer that would put 190 h.p. out,... but they didnt get it out. We wandered over and watched the burn em til' they blow' contest, those guys are nuts, or just have to much money. That one new 'Busa' I believe... wrapped the tire cord all around the swingarm and axle... what a mess. We were parked right where you come into the parking lot, I was with a couple guys...another nice Roadie a friend picked up,...an 01' I believe, burgandy and champane 2 tone, and a black n' white H.D. Deluxe. Let me know if your gonna hit any poker runs around here later.
