Try giving the float bowl a few whacks with a screwdriver handle. That might pop it loose.

Re:leaking carburator on a 2002 road star 7 Years, 10 Months ago
I am having the same problem with my 2007 Road Star with only 6200 miles on it. It only happens after the bike is good and warm. The first time it happened I had riden it for about 1.5 hours, shut it off then turned the key on about 15 minutes later to run into town and it started pumping fuel on the ground. I let it sit overnight and looked at it the next morning and I could not duplicate the problem while it was cold. I took the bike out for a couple hours, then the same thing happened. I rode it to work today (85 miles) with no problems.

Still sound like a sticky float?

My '07's float was set too high from the factory. Never saw it leak out, but had idling issues, sooty plugs & tailpipes, the whole deal. Rejetted & set the floats at that time using this method. Easy to do & really worked wonders. Btw, there's also an aggravating problem that crops up on hot days. That being the gas heating up in the float bowl & the line between the jugs after it's run awhile, then parked, then restarted. That seems to be heat related & I plan to address that with a little insulation soon.
