Finally after several months of planning, tweaking on my R* switching to a 33T pulley from a 31T, changing the oil, gear oil, spark plugs, new rear tire, new rear brake pads, fixing my tail lights and the short in my passing lamps, adding Harley hard bags and brackets from DChoppers, added a SENA 20s to my helmet......WHEW I loaded all my stuff on bike up for my trip from Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon North and South rims and back home in 4 days. Hoping I didn't forget anything, leaving at 5:30am to beat traffic and desert heat. Heading out with a friend on his new BMW GS adventure. Gonna try to hit as much of Route 66 as possible going out there.
I told my construction crew to not call me unless one of them dies

This is the longest trip I've done so far, I've done several 500 mile days but not in a row. Hope my R* performs as she always has perfectly the last 32k.

That sounds like a great 4 day trip. What route do you have planned? I've ridden to both South and North rims but not on the same trip. You're going to see some great sites.

Have a fun and safe trip. I'm sure that the R* won't let you down. I'm not sure who you are riding with and what kind of bikes they may have, but you might want to bring some SAE tools to help them fix their bikes. (if you know what I mean)

You'll get to see what the run-off from off the continent did toward the end of the Great Flood some 4,230 years ago!

its only 109 miles south of the Grand Canyon...I loved the Grand Canyon and hiked into it with my wife. But Sedona is like riding thru the Grand Canyon on your motorcycle !!!

Hiking into the Canyon is a totally different experience. Seeing the canyon from the rim is like seeing God but hiking into the Canyon is like touching his Face...
