Ok deal. I'll try that. What do you suggest for my ignition timing based on my setup?

32A or 34A on a Dyna 3000

Sweet. I'm running 32a currently. Thanks Dave, I'll test it out with that tuning and report back.

and so what???

I have the same trouble with bad milleage. (XV1600)
140 miles for reserve....it's around 30-32 mpg, I think..
on the stock carb was better..

25 pilot, 97 needle 3rd clip, 170 main jet. (1-2 clip and 165 main, or 1-1\2 or 2 turns pms - runs like shit)
1-1\4 turns out pms.
dyna coils.
spark plugs is ok.

now i will try my new dyna3000..

any ideas how to increase milleage?

Well if you wanted mileage you should have stayed with the stock carb. And I hate to tell you but the quality of the gas these days has dropped a ton. I used to get 14 - 16 with my Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 V8 and even now after a plug and oil change after a good SeaFoam treatment I am luck to get 11 - 12. The bad thing about the HSR is there are so many ways to jet and configure it and it being a mechanical carb your always wanting to twist the thing.
