Jess, don't try to put a lot of thought into reading between the lines when it comes to film and TV production.

We've been involved in a number of film and TV projects over the years here in Las Vegas and honestly producers don't give the talent a lot of respect. It's pretty typical for casting directors here to put out a talent call for the FOLLOWING DAY and usually three days notice at the most. They're some of the flakiest organizers on the planet and trying to make sense out of what they do, in advance, will make you pull your hair out.

As a rule you just wait for the 'day of' and take it from there. I was recently a guest on History Channel's 'Pawn Stars' and though we'd been emailing for weeks I literally got a call THE DAY BEFORE to see if I could make it over at 1 PM the following day, which I did. We spent four hours shooting the segment and it aired six months later. I turned them down the first time they asked, a week earlier, because it wasn't worth my time.

You may be at the top of their list and the lead topic in each of their production meetings but you won't have a clue until you're actually on set waiting to shoot. That's just how they operate!

No kidding.
The film industry as a whole runs on "Hurry Up & Wait" with a big side of "Last Minute".
