I was RIPPED OFF big time! 3 Years, 7 Months ago

I brought my bike in because it was backfiring. It just wasn't running well. Shop owner kept asking me to use his Dyno machine at $150.00 a pop. I kept saying NO. I asked for him to make sure I had the right master jet size, clean the carb and disconnect the AIS. I also had him change my front tire. I had my own tire. When I saw the bill I first thought it was a joke. I just find it hard to believe that a shop would lie that much about their services. He kept telling me that his mechanic had to spend a lot of time online looking for information about the carb. No matter how much I argued with this crook he had an excuse for everything.
When I rode my bike it performed worse than before I brought it to him. I was obviously mad as hell. I took some time to calm down then phoned him to tell him I was bringing it back so try again. Luckily he saw it my way and set a date. I picked up my bike today and she finally runs properly. Still cost me a small fortune but I learned a valuable lesson....READ THE RSC TECH POSTS and do it yourself.

Tried to post a scanned copy of the bill but it wouldn't work. My bill was for $630.38.

SIX HUNDRED, THIRTY DOLLARS AND THIRTY EIGHT CENTS!!!

IF IN THE OTTAWA AREA (Canada) STAY AWAY FROM RICHMOND MOTORSPORTS!!!

There aren't many 'reputable' shops in Ottawa unfortunately. I've dealt with Knapp's Yamaha down in Prescott and they're pretty good. At least they won't soak you. For the most part, I DIY and refer to this forum a LOT lol.

I would have refused to pay that much. If it was a job they didn't know how to do then they should have told you ahead of time. The mechanics research should not be included in the labor time.
