Nice job on an awesome bike!

In theory there should be a turbo already commonly available that would work on a Roadstar.
Yamaha has shipped turbo kits for their snowmobiles that were built by Volvo and Mitsubishi.
I'm not a turbo expert by a long shot but it seems like the biggest challenge would be to find one that's as reliable as the rest of the bike without pushing too much boost.
Small car engine turbos are for at least 4 cylinder liquid cooled engines, not air cooled twins.

What kind of turbos are on the various Harley kits?

I'm a little surprised Patrick Racing hasn't done a turbo for the Roadstar with all their big power kits available.
I don't think I'd turbo my bike (it's fast enough for me) but it sure is an interesting concept!

The popular harley turbo kits are Aerochargers. A turbo that doesn't need it's own oil feed but it works with some oil mist technology of their own. Can also be installed in any angle thay say. Don't know how long life that is or anything but it seems it works well on the models they make it for.
A single carb bike is pretty simple to turbocharge, and any motorcycle can handle 0,5bar boost except for the
stock clutch that might start to slip.
I counted that this kind of set would cost about 1000-2000euros depending on accessories like intercooler and oil cooler etc that are not a must. As long as you can do most of the fabricating your self.
I could never go back to stock now. Not that I didn't love the bike already, but the torque and powerband make the bike feel a ton lighter and effortless to drive Not to mention the beat up of smaller sporty bikes and mid range sport cars that think they could take on a lazy big cruiser .
I've never driven a R* with high comp pistons or any other power ups, but would love to see how they behave compared to my bike .

And i just checked one bike with magnacharger and was surprised if they only had 80hp out of it . Don't know if it's unfinished but still, mine made 94,5hp and 170Nm top torque from the tire and at 2000rpm makes about 150Nm from the tire.
Would love to see a magnachargers dynochart. since it should give some serious low end boost
How much are the Magnachargers??

I checked out there and you're right Flash they're around 3k and up..

This opinion was out there from a guy experienced with Pro Chargers on HD's. He brings out a few good points.

Supercharging an air cooled v-twin in most instances is borderline successful, meaning there are trade-offs for the performance gains that can be realized. Compressing air makes heat. Forcing "hot" air into a cylinder that is inclined to be hot in the first place makes an already bad situation worse.

Super Chgargers are expensive. One of the other sites I hang out on did a comparasion of a big CI, normally aspirated motor making 135 hp and a 98" motor that had been super charged making 135 hp.

Basically, the lessons learned during the comparrasion was the larger carb'd CI motor was much more road and rider friendly, experienced fewer rideability issues and had a life expectancy that should / would long out live the super charged equivalant.

Life expectancy is even more important on a bike that is typically used for long trips and 2-up cruising, where as a Barhopper / hotrod tends to lend itself to short hops to and from and between watering holes, giving perceieved longer trouble free service.

I have installed Pro Chargers on cars and boats but used water and N2O cooled air charge chillers, (heat exchangers), that are available for bike applications too, (air to air), but they lack in efficiency and are marginally effective due to size limitations.

However, you can build a lot more power, cheaper, staying normally aspirated on a bike, with subtle routine changes to carb/injection system, A/C's and exhaust, maps, etc.

To the contrary, the minute the Charger is installed in a street bike application there's a series of "compromises" that must be made for it to work reliably. Compression, timing, forged pistons, fuel octane, etc. must all be addressed. Ultimate boost psi must be limited to what the motor build can tolerate, even though the charger is capable of producing considerable more boost / performance.

In essence, the charger never gets to see or provide its full performance improvement capability.

Personally, I'd sooner build a hot set-up 130+ inch motor and add a N2O shot to it for an occasional extra "kick" knowing it will live longer than the Super charged motor, have fewer limitations and potentially less maintenance.

Well my trip to northern Norway is on aaaand it hasn't been easy .
Roads were ripped open allover Finland AND Norway, exhaust manifold bolt snapped and the other nut shook loose and needed to be fixed, our "cabin" was smaller room that i have ever seen, clouds were so low that we couldn't see the mountains and whale safari was 600km the other direction from Tromssa where we are now . but i love this city! Absolutely adorable and had one of the best sushi ever . tomorrow we head back home.

Hi everybody! Trip to norway is over and it wad great! But... The trip cost me two manifold bolts that snapped, and the rear shock is busted. I'm going to order the shock and progressive spring kit from pacificcustoma. The problem is the customs payment that i want to go around. One way
Appearantly is to send it as a gift OR as a used part. For this i would need someones help if possible?
I buy and pay everything, if someone could send it forward to me as a used part or as a gift.
I know it's a hassle but it would save me about 90€ so i want to try if someone can help me .
Will post trip pics to imgur shortly.

ever think of roadwinging your rear shock. I would imagine there should be Honda Gold Wing salvage parts over there.
