its not hating on harleys. its the fact that harleys are mentioned here on a road star site. go to a harley site and mention a roadie and see what happens.

You rarely if ever see any other make mentioned on Harley sites, it's usually the insecurity of the metric rider that brings these discussion up on metric forums. It happens here at least once a week and it becomes rather tedious to wade through the BS. Why don't you guys compare your Road Stars to Kawasaki's, or Honda's, or Suzuki's, or etc., etc.. Grow the hell up.

I agree, it's like penis envy or Napolean complex.

Sorry man but I won't buy another Harley at any time. I have owned more than one and personally had a problem with them wanting to be in the shop rather than on the road. My best friend just got rid of his second HD Ultra in favor of of a VTX1800 for the same reason. Just our bad luck I'm sure. I thoroughly enjoy having this R* because it's got the looks, the sound, the torque, along with the dependability of a Jap bike. Hasn't been on a wrecker yet!

I'm sure some people here have had it with the historical price-raping that HD dealers seem to have perpetrated in past years along with some of the awful dependability problems of the past. Sometimes the past haunts companies. Remember the AMF years? That's not bashing - that's the truth. As I have experienced it. You have to understand that paying a premium price for American goods and then getting shafted really does stick to your ribs. Ease up a bit.

People talk about the rodies has the best bang for the buck over the HD and the roadstar is all they can afford. Both are great bikes.I own a 2008 Road Star Silverado S cost was $16000 new. The HD Road King starts at $16599. So there is no real difference in price. I could have bought what ever HD I wanted. But I do Not because I like the ROADSTAR. Buy what u like and what fits u. Not just BRAND NAME.

I just LOVE HD's! The bikes ... not the corporate BS and a lotta sheeples bad 'addytood' towards non-HD bikes. The only thing worse is some joker that's walking ... bashing my Banzai Bike. Loser.

This guy came up to me in front of my office a few weeks ago. He was asking for some money to get milk for his kid. His breath told me otherwise. He was admiring my bike and then blurts out, "you shoulda got a Harley". I said, " what do you ride"? He, giggle giggles and then flashes a toothless grin and says, " Oh, I don't ride anything". Not banging on the guy but it's funny how people will automatically just do that.
