starter spin problem. 4 Months, 1 Week ago

I had the starter spin problem on my 2001 XV1600. I found the article on the problem and followed the directions. It wasn't very hard,they were good directions. I finally had a chance to get back to it tonight after a week of curing time on the bearing mount compound and the problem persists! The starter clutch looked fine when I put it back together and would lock up one way by hand, but when I hit the starter button the starter clutch spins but the 'flywheel' does not. I am at a loss and of course now I am not sure how to get the flywheel back off now that I have it glued on. Can anyone offer advise as to what may be the problem, and also how I am going to have to get the flywheel back off?
