Can I run Freedom True Duals w/o jetting 3 Years ago
Right now I have cobra slash cuts with the stock air filter. Honestly I do not know if the PO had the bike jetted. At any rate the bike runs like a champ with no back fire, no loss of power or anything. The bike still has its fuel pump and AIS installed. I am wanting to go with the freedom true duals because I want to run hard bags and maybe a bad dad rear fender. If I keep everything the same with the exceptions of the exhaust will I need to jet.

You can always just try that and see. You may be ok.

Otherwise, there are plenty of members in your area to help you out if you're not familiar with jetting, AIS removal, and pumpless (if you choose that).

Many will argue, but AIS and Pumpless are two mods I'd do without hesitation. If you need to rejet after you install the Freedom Duals, I'd recommend at least removing the AIS.

If you're not changing anything but the exhaust, then no you don't need to re-jet

I used to have those Cobra slash cuts, drilled air box, and AIS removed. I popped on decel constantly, and also the occasional backfire.

If you're going with duals and all that stuff, why not upgrade the air box too? You'd definitely need to re-jet then, but it would just be a part of the whole project.

two reasons

1. I love the look of the freedom true duals
2. I need the clearance for the hard bags.

I am not looking for that performance boost because I am good with what it does now.

Looked up some online....good lord, anyone know where to get the freedoms at a good price. I am seeing almost 1000 bucks for the style I want.

Freedoms are darn expensive. Those slash cut cobras are such a pain to tune for. My bike ran like garbage til I got rid of them and rejetted the carb.

Here's a link to a thread a couple days ago with some pricing info listed in it. You should be able to get what you're looking for under $700 delivered. http://roadstarclinic.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,187/func,view/catid,50/id,855411/

Good luck...catnaper

I had the same setup as you. I went with Bassani... Jetting was not necessary for me....
