Life is short Loren. Do what makes you happy. Do ride Toby's bike to get the "skittish out of you" ... I know after my accident I was skittish riding but I am just about over it.

Well I called the dealership this morning and asked them if they could lower the price. I was talking to the owner himself and he has always done right by us. He ran the numbers, but said he would take a hit on the deal if he did that. (basically he would have had to eat the sales tax)

When he pays for a trade in, he usually gives a decent price, and he doesn't mark the bike up a whole lot to sell it. I know this, because he took in my stryker, gave me 6k for it, and sold it for 7k. He always services every trade in too.

He did tell me he would put a new front tire on it to match the new rear that was going on it the day we looked at it, and so I said "good enough" and told him we would be down friday to sign the paperwork and bring her home.

So this evening, I geared up as much as possible, and toby took me for a ride on his bike. It was wonderful. It didn't last nearly long enough, but he wisely turned us around after about 20 minutes so he didn't over tire me. *grumble*

But we can go again tomorrow!

I'm late to this party and knew I was going to read the outcome of your decision before I got to the end. What came through loud and clear was your excitement on the prospect of getting THIS bike. That convinced me that you should because when you know in your knower this is what you want to do there's no explaining it and no point in asking other's opinion.

I think we ask others because we want out head (logic and reason) to come into play in a decision. But when passion and excitement hit our inner knower then we KNOW THAT WE KNOW this is what I want to do. Sometimes you can't explain that or get your head to align with it. Once that occurs, go for it! It doesn't have to make sense to anyone else.

So as others have said, life is short, do what makes YOU happy. And congratulations!!
