isn't that blasphemy
No, it is not. Being in church and not having your mind and heart on God would be though. The point is, the open road can open your mind and heart to the wonders of creation and bring you to a place where you appreciate our maker. Wherever you find God, that is where you should be. God would agree.
"Wherever you find God, that is where you should be."
Amen to that...
and you can find God EVERYWHERE since God is EVERYTHING, its when judgement comes into it, Jesus asked us not to. Judgement or discernment was only meant to use to find your way Home...not towards anyone but for yourself alone...the path is strait, thats why God is within you and the only One that can judge you...( I am in the Father and my Father is in me )
It doesn't say this in the bible but it is inferred...
Since God Created Everything and is Everything...the very air we breath and ground we walk on is a part of God and so are we...does that sound like blasephemy ( is when a point of view is not in aggreement with the Authorized viewpoint )...oh well

interesting points of view here.....
now i ain´t a religious guy (in the terms of organised religion) and never have been.
my parents had me baptised anglican, and when i was old enough said `look around and go for what fits you best´. to date nothing has, BUT i have had some spititual experiences (without drug use). i can feel `god´ for want of a better word when sitting watching a sunset, kicked back next to the bike having a smoke during a long ride, or meandering in the mountains. i try to live my life helping others and not screwing people over and attempting not to cause harm to anyone (though heaven help the person that attempts to harm me or mine). i dunno if that is a christian way of life, but for me going to a church wouldn´t make me a christian any more than standing in my garage would make me a car.
i just try to live right.
i have got a promise to keep though. when i got married here, because my wife is catholic, i had to promise to have our kids baptised into the catholic church and for them to attend to prepare for communion. this i will do as i promised, but my kids will be told the same by me as i was told by my folks.
guess we all feel god in our own way

Frank,
Sorry about your bad experience and your misconceptions as a result. If it matters and you care, I've been a Christian believer for 36 years, teach the adult Bible class at our church, and have been doing so for almost 30 years... and my experience and understanding of these things is very different from yours, and all good. So, if you'd like to follow up at all on the PM side, I'd only be too happy and willing to.
This isn't a Christian website, but there's a number of believers here. Obviously, a number of us don't mind sharing what we are supposed to be sharing... it goes with the believing.
I'll just end this here by saying that the scripture is what it claims to be, and is, therefore, authoritative. I'm convinced of that, and can explain to you why... if the reasons ring true with you, it could be the start of a whole new direction in life, which is exactly what it is supposed to result in.

I appreciate the offer, QC. I could go into the whole story of how I came to my own particular understandings of things, but it's not a very pretty one, at all. Personally, trying to fit myself into Christianity, would be like trying to fit into clothes I wore when I was in elementary school. I'm not interested in being convinced of anything.
All I can say is that what I've found and how I apply it to my life, has worked for me. It's turned me around 180 degrees, when I was previously on a hardcore path of suicidal self-destruction. If a miracle is a changed consciousness, then I am living proof that miracles still happen.
Best Regards...

Me I think God is where you find him. I am nondenominational I think all religions are wrong and I think they are all right. I have seen cristians act like animals and muslims show great compassion I have know guilt ridden catholics jews eating hot dogs ect ect. According to some I am going to hell because I have Tatoos. I have Cristian leanings, but I don't go to church I really have no use for organised relgion. People get wrapped up in the letter of it not the spirit. I have no problems with those that follow a religion thats good for them. If people want to talk about it they gotta keep an open mind and remember that views and beliefs are different and not to take offense or get wound up when they clash....Sorry I don't know where this soap box came from.

Things my Motorcycle Taught me is the subject...how did it hijacked into a religious subject???!!! I do find it rather funny because we all know that if the hypocrits were struck down the wouldn't be many "Christians" left, or those of anyother religion..
BACK TO THE SUBJECT...
She's the next best thing to my dog.....helps me relax, stress disappears and she's always there for me.

things motorcycles have taught me....
- to have the patience of a saint
- that form over function is a pain in the neck to work on
- the sense of satisfaction in a job well done
- that getting the job done right first time saves time
- that bodging something costs more time than doing it right
- that parts of certain motorcycles were designed after a group of techs went out on the lash on a friday afternoon.
