Pumpless 2 Years, 6 Months ago
Not sure if I'm posting this in the right section of the forum, but I am wondering what the advantages to going pumpless are, and if theres any disadvantages to it? I read the tech article on it and have seen lots of posts on here about people saying its a good thing.

First it stops the carb puking, next you get to throw the fuel pump in the bin so that gets rid of any future problems and once the float level is set its ride and forget, I've not had a problem since going pumpless, some vent the fuel cap but I removed the rollover valve and drilled out the steel breather pipe on the top of the tank at the front on the RH side as it has a spring and ball so no fumes can get out but it makes it hard for the tank to breath in as well, and more important you can drink beer while your doing it

I primarily did it to pretty up the left side of the engine, as I want to expose my jugs! The engine is gorgeous... show it off.

First thing I do on any bike I get. Just gets rid of something that is simply not needed.

When I turn on the switch, no more "click, click, click....." of the fuel pump running before starting.

I've had so many episodes of Carb Puke that I vowed to cure it permanently!

Cleans up the bike on the left side.

It makes JakeUSAF happy.

It also makes me happy.

Do you recommend following the tech article then? Anything you would change?
