That would've been a shame. Glad it's going to continue new and improved.

Nicely done Jeff.

I agree, the post count has been as much a part of the clinic as the topics. If there is a way to retain them in a file I too would help to restore the counts (as close as we can) to the owners. Also, I would be able to sell new starting counts for a fee... want 1,000,000 posts? No problem, I can fake that.

Seriously, great work on retaining the importance of what the clinic is. (I was joking on the post counts - will be fun to have everyone an equal again).

Could the post count be replaced with "member since year"? As an example, I yap my trap an aweful lot at times and have only been a member for around one year I think. Others may have 75 posts and been hanging with the RSC since 2007. I see the importance of post counts because it shows your involvement, but the years you've each been a member has merit and says a lot too. Just wondering... if the post count transfer isn't possible why not capture the member since date somehow.. and attach that in the profile and with every post?

If this was brought up already I apologize. I may not have read every post.

I believe the barrier isn't transferring data, it's that the new site is starting over... thus, you will need to re-register. It won't contain the information directly since you will be a NEW member on the new site.

My opinion is that both the "year joined" as well as the individual "post count" aren't really that important to transfer as the new form of RSC will be just that... new. Yes, it will have the same 'ol flavor, but it really will be new.

I recommend that we embrace the change and look for ways to participate positively and guides it's new path just as the many have done before us all.

This is the best thing ever. Really glad not to lose the site and keep my friends. It only took me four years to get the 1000 mark and while I will mourn the loss of the hard earned 1K I am looking forward to having the feeling again.

+1

I'm not on here as much as I used to be, but I cannot overstate how much this site has helped and entertained me over the years. I've always been comfortable working on my bikes, but having a group that is willing to answer a quick question or a tech article that gives you a new idea can be invaluable.
This site and all who are a part of it , have been a life saver for me on many occasions.
