I just spotted this in the Additional Accessories section on The Yamaha website. For the Venture, they offer an optional heel and tow shifter. Heel and Tow? Don't they mean Heel and Toe? Fire the copywiter. I never let shit like that get by me when I was writing copy. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.

It's a tow shifter, for when you're pulling a trailer. Right?

I hate the big air scoop looking things on the sides. I like simplicity, and this thing lacks that big time.

I like it. I have been asking for this for a while. Big air cooled engine in a Venture package. Glad they took their time or I might have considered it, but I still would have to wait a few years. I never buy first year. And it is a bit out of my price range and a bit bigger than I need anymore. But I am definitely going to test ride one. It will certainly run different than the old Ventures(I've had 2). As for now I am real happy with my Indian. Pretty much the only bike that could get me off my Roadie.

I was hoping for all that technology on more of a Strat Deluxe platform. I think it will be very hard to get the Wing crowd to cross over so I am not seeing a huge success out of a mid 20K metric touring machine. Even though I do like the looks of it better than the Wings personally.

Looks to destroy the Road Glide Ultra for the money. Much better options and looks.

New Kaidallac????

I want the no trunk version and Blue if I am going to spend that money, but I definately like it so far.

Like the motor and six speed. Would like to see it in a stripped down version.

I like it.

Many of you right here on this forum have asked for YEARS for a Yamaha touring bike with:
Stratoliner engine (updated w/ true dual exhaust)
Six-speed transmission
Modern sound/communication/navigation
A true, fly-by-wire YCC-T system w/ contact-less TPS
Heated seats and handlebar grips
Full LED lighting
Electronic Cruise Control
ABS/UBS
Engine D-Mode, TCS (Traction control sytem), CAN bus
Wireless Smart key system
Electric adjustable windshield (like the FJR1300 has)
Wireless tire pressure monitoring system

I guess you think that should only cost about $800 extra on a bike that should only cost about $7k.

To get an Indian or HD with this level of features you'll need to choke up $10,000 more than the new Venture.
You still wouldn't have all the features much less a 5-year factory warranty to back it up.

First year for the model? Yeah, but really in name only.
There have been pictures of this bike cruising around Los Angeles for 2 years already & it's an updated version of an already bullet proof Liner engine.
How may years have they had this in the lab designing & stress testing components & assemblies? I'd bet around 2 years previous to discontinuing the past generation Venture.
These are Japanese engineers we're talking about, not HD or Polaris.

Is it for everyone? No. It's a premium bike for buyers willing to pay for premium features & superior quality.
If Yamaha rolls out a new line of Touring/cruising big engine bikes, it would not make sense to have a long hyped rollout for their budget models first.
If you're smart, you come out with the BIG GUN first & make everyone drool over the features.
You expect some to bitch & whine about the price, then you come out with something less-featured but more affordable.
... & again, we're talking about a 150 year old Japanese company. Generally regarded as pretty smart guys.

This fits in here, right? I mean, I can make this fit in here ... right?
