Jerry don't forget you will have to get K&M recharging service kit. I don't remember if the filter comes charged or not (oiled)

Thanks, I'll look that up.

Be sure to get a "Sock" for it in case you get caught in the rain. I left mine on all the time (sock that is) when I had my BAK

On an FI bike my impression is the FI will constantly adjust based on the air/oxygen coming into the engine by reading the O2 Sensors on the exhaust. So if you are at sea level it adjust to that altitude. If you are at 5000 feet with less oxygen, it adjusts to that altitude. Carbs can't do that. My Son In Law purchased a 2016 HD Street Bob, and changed exhaust and air cleaner and decided to go with a DynaJet FI module that learns the riding styles and adjusts based on altitude.

Also, take a few minutes and call Shane Scalpi at SS Custom Cycles, he's the guru parts seller for our bikes and actually owns and rides two of them. I've purchased pipes, rear BYOB fender, jet kit from him and he's a wealth of knowledge and he will spend time discussing your issues and fixes. I was told that by many many people on this forum and took their advise.

In the description it states that it comes with one.

Is re-jetting the carb for the BAK difficult? I had a hypercharger put on and trying to decide whether to replace it due to chrome chipping or buy a BAK.

Depends. Hyperchargers, sometimes require an air jet swap per the manufacturers instructions, that can make changing back a bit more interesting. Normally, if it runs fine now, then it'll run fine after changing to the BAK.

Ah yeah! Perfect. I bought it, plus the recharging service kit. Not sure I'll need it, but from a video I watched, it looks great for cleaning up the filter on occasion.

Thanks guys. I'm doing a whole bunch to my bike. I must be bored. Lol.

Got new seats, sissy bar, new leather bags, 4.5 inch risers for the handle bars, and this BAK.

But, that's it.

My GF is going to freak when all the boxes start arriving. Especially since I'm supposed to be saving for our wedding coming up this summer, and the subsequent week in Hawaii. Lol. Hopefully I can pull it off.

If you don't hear from me, send a search party.

I have one on my bike, and it's a very easy install. Never had an issue with it, but I think you'll need to rejet.

Of course you'll need it when it comes time to clean the dirt out of the reusable filter and add the oil, or recharge, the element. A reusable type filter would be worthless without the oil embedded in the filtering material.

Seen bikes bought used that already had a K&N type filter that wasn't serviced and allowed to get bone dry.

After removal and swabbing the carb throat with my finger showed the owner just how much dirt got past the element if allowed to go beyond its servicing deadline.
