The Idiot of the week award has been issued.........Picture this, you've all seen those "Goggles" that you snap your phone into and they become Virtual Reality glasses? Ok good. Coming south on Rte 57 on the south side of Elyria, I pull up up to a red light and look at the car on my left. The passenger has these VR goggles on and is having a good time with them. After a couple intersections and a few blocks of giggling at my new entertainment we come to another red light. Now the stupidity starts showing its face.......The passenger gives the VR goggles to the driver who proceeds to put them on........figured out where this is going yet? Now the driver is looking all around at whatever virtual world he has immersed himself into........and now, the award winning moment.........before the light turns green, still very very red, he nails the gas pedal and runs the light......with the goggles still on........by the time he took the goggles off he had hit two cars, a speed limit sign and come to rest against the cement divider between the North and South bound lanes. Yes sir, you have won this week's Idiot award and are in very good standing to claim this months Idiot award as well.
I gave my statement to the cops and now on my way back to my warehouse. Lol. Look out guys, these people are among us daily........

Hilarious in a very real but very wrong way. I see enough people where I work each day, this doesn't surprise me in the least.
I'd almost bet the driver was momentarily confused after it happened, not at all sure what went on.  |

His one and only comment regarding the VR goggles to the cops was that "The roller coaster wasn't worth all this".  |
