"06" Roadliner for a Grand 1 Month ago
This morning I stumbled across an 06 Roadliner for sale and I'm wondering if it's a good deal or not. This is a high miler with 95k on the clock and a broken drive belt.

I have two questions for you guys.
First...is this a money pit waiting to happen? I mean am I looking at some major service issues here because of the mileage or is it like so many of these Roady's where the miles can pile up and so long as do your service it's OK, or would I be looking at expensive maintenance issues like a top end rebuild or a tranny?

Second...how hard is it to change a belt on a Roadliner?

Mike

IIRC the 06s had some tranny issues. A broken belt won’t allow you to test it.

I don't see how you could go wrong...if you have the time & the space, you could part it out & make money on it.
Replacing the belt is a pain in the shorts, but it's doable.
My question would be "Why did the belt break ?". It should have lasted past that mileage mark. But, then again, maybe the previous owner did lots of burnouts.

Well that didn't take long....lol. Had a friend go over to look at the bike and he was impressed enough with it's condition that I bought it. New tires, brakes, battery, battery tender, riding gloves and a Giant ass Star poster to sweeten the deal.

The real reason you bought it was because the bike is white!! nice bike though.

Nice score!! Can see why you jumped on that one, nice going. Good luck with it whatever you end up doing with it. Keeping it or flipping it, either way you did good!

You could spend 3 more grand on the bike and still be ahead. Great find!
