Input on Bassani true duals... 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Can get a like new low mileage set cheap...but don't know anything about them. I know they make quality car exhaust. Anyone have experience with their notorcycle true dual exhausts? I don't need them but may get and stash until the next Roadie....

Re:Input on Bassani true duals... 1 Year, 1 Month ago
I loved the Bassani's that I had on Misfit.

The quality was great, but the rear head pipe is a PITA to get on. I had Freedoms on the bike prior to the Bassani's and I liked the Bassani's 10x better. While either set of duals sound quieter than side pipes (especially short shots) The Bassani's had a louder, more Harley like sound. I did take the wrap off of the baffles too.
I also loved the way they looked. I thought the amount sticking out of the rear of the bike looked perfect. (see above)
The Freedoms stuck out a little bit farther. (see belowe)

The one advantage that the freedoms had was that they sat a little higher from the ground. If you are one of those people that like to hit the curves hard, you are more likely to drag with the Bassani's. Or if you have the rear lowered.
here is a link with sound of mine when I first installed them. They still had the wrap on the baffles and the bike was lowered so you do hear the pipes scrape. After I raised the bike back up to stock height, I never scraped again.

If you can get them cheap, grab them and hold on to them until your next build. I plan on doing the same thing if I run into a good set.

Hope this helps, I will try to answer if you have any questions.

I have a set and they are very well made, rather easy to install and sound badass. I ended up pulling all of the stuffing and baffles out to get the sound I liked but once there, I would never go back to Longshots. Cike, you had issue with the read header? Mine slipped in, wiggled and dropped right in.

I thought they would have been sold in five minutes but I got lucky and stole them gladly for 150.00. They will look good on my 2001. Sorry guys, Mike.
