Whenever there is something this individualized you're going to appeal to a much smaller number of people. Some will like it...some won't. Don't post a pic if you don't want it critiqued.

So let me get this straight. Just because some members don't care for it and stated their opinion they are now bad people. But when everybody tears into a custom HD build it's ok. It seems to me that we have a few hypocrites on here. Let he who has no sin cast the first stone.

BTW I never said I don't like it, I said it's not for me. Go ahead flame away

Hello, First post on this forum or any forum. Been hanging around for a long time. I really like this bike. I really enjoy the site and all the info, ideas and all else I find here. It is clear by looking at this bike the owner has put a lot of thought and time, not to mention dollars into it. If I had done this and got invited to a party at some new friends place I would be hurt if they picked apart my vision. I think nice bike would be enough said. I would never walk up to someone standing by their bike and say anything negative so I would think online would'nt be any different. Have a nice day and ride on.

That's the thing...this is the internet and not face to face encounter, people need to expect a little more bluntness online, that's just how it is. Otherwise, where's the freedom of expression if you can't even be honest with people over a computer screen?

I'm not saying anyone needs to be a dick, but as already stated, no one needs to be labeled as a bad person or ignorant for stating they don't care for the design. We're a bunch of bikers, why do we need to act like our skin is brittle? Lol.

Maybe he'll join anyway and realize we all get along even if we don't always agree...

Hello, I was making the point that this pic was posted not by the owner but by one of our members and with a invite to join the forum. The owner did not ask for comments on his bike. And just because it has become the norm to assume it is OK it should be no different than face to face, unless the person asked for comments. Ride on.

The first year for the Duo Glide was 1958..

I never really liked the Rifle fairing but on that bike it looks good.

I don't know why I do that, I always want to type 57 but mean 58 when I'm talking about that bike.
Should have been a HyrdoGlide if it was a 57 IIRC. Mine had rear shocks, I don't think the 57s did.

Anyway back on topic, that's a Rifle fairing on the white R*? I was going to guess some kind of Vetter.
I have an old Vetter Rooster fairing in my garage that looks pretty close to that, maybe a little smaller.

I really don't like the white, looks like a trailer queen in my opinion. Other than that I would ride the hell out of it. I wish the PC police on here would go away. If you post in a online forum you better expect some flack. And this "post count" theory is laughable. I might have 8 or 9 posts myself, but you people with high post counts, please come down off that mountain top, you know who you are. I would like to hang around the clinic more, but.... life will not let me.

I think some are missing the point. There's nothing wrong with not liking someone else's ride and saying so, but there's no need to a dick about it, making derisive remarks.

I'm well aware the internet is littered with sites where flaming is the norm… It's beat down or get beat on… But that's not how the Clinic rolls.

The clinic is a *very unique* sight with a unique group of people who often go above and beyond for each other; more so than any other site I've ever encountered. It's because of the respect we share for each other. It's what make this THE BEST DAMN R* site on the planet! Sure we have our share of conflict, that's nothing new, but we do show respect for each other.
