My city made History! 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Talking about the Halifax Explosion.

http://nationalpost.com/news/canada/halifax-explosion-a-look-at-the-largest-man-made-explosion-in-history-before-hiroshima

Glad I was not there at that time. I met a old guy 25 years ago claiming he seen the explosion and lived through it. I use to live in the North End of Halifax for 35 years. Moved to the suburbs and live in my 900 sq foot house with the tarped roof, wife and 2 Road Stars. My wife thinks my priorities are out of focus spending money on bikes versus fixing the roof.

I checked the tarped roof and the tarps are holding out well. It was comforting news for the wife, my reassuring her the roof will not leak in the middle of winter and spring. The nice thing about a small house is it is easy to heat.

Down here in the lower 48 we use old discarded car tires to hold the tarps down. I think it adds a festive and unique look to the house to make it stand out from the rest. That ought to satisfy your wife. drumsonly2002 wrote:

FIMA’s, ‘Obama Blue’ was quite the fad in the gulf coast region for awhile back in the day.

Well, you learn something every day. I always thought the car tires on the roof were to help keep the roof on during tornados.

I have 2 junk vans (8 tires) I have to get rid of plus 12 tires, 8 on rims = 8 + 12 = 20 tires! Hmmm... maybe the roof will collapse with the extra weight.

The tarps are held down with strapping screwed in. This year going to clear the property and fix the roof.

I have to winterize the bikes. Going for one last ride hopefully this week. Since my man cave shed collapsed have to use my newly developed clam shell idea and "Tarp da Bike". will post some pics about that when it happens.

I took the 2003 for a tear earlier this week. Worked great. No snow yet, but snowblower ready to go!

As a side point, due to the onset of diabetes quit pop Nov 2nd. A 1 liter of Coke = 27 tsp sugar. One coke per day = 108 lbs sugar ingested per year.

My property looks like Redneck Ville, but due to my high level of sophistication and use of three syllable words, it tends to confuse the neighbors. Words like ubiquitous. Actually, that is four syllables but who's counting. My intellectual efforts to stimulate my neighbors with clever banter keeps me on friendly terms. Actually, in all seriousness, I have great respect for my neighbors and we help each other when needed.

After the property is cleared, and the new Man Cave Bike Barn erected, the neighbors will be perplexed with the drastic upgrades.

Off topic but may as well share some quality time while it is to be had.
