Hi Doc, I love your bike and web page. I am planning a Roadstar custom and want rake in the front end. I am curious to know how you feel about your bikes handling after the new trees were installed. And I would like to know how adding the 4" extensions later affected your handling. Did adding the extensions increase your trail numbers? Does your bike sit level now? If not, how much higher does it sit now from stock? I would like to just get my rake by adding raked trees but if the handling is poor then I will bite the bullet and cut and weld the neck or do both. Any info would be appreciated. Trying to get everything lined up and figured out so that when I get the bike I can get started on the custom work right away. BTW, my first bike was an old Panhead and me and a buddy cut the neck, welded 1/4 plate to reinforce it and added a 12" over springer. The steering was a little heavy at low speed but manageable, and really shined at expressway speeds.
