Well, I have been pondering a new bike for next year. Looked at a few, rode a few. I like my roadstar better. I have decided to keep it and spend some money on cosmetics to make it my own. Internally wired apes came on bike. Installed a batwing already. Ed big touring seat. Bassani true duals and slash cut down mufflers on order. Softail conversion brackets here already. Does anyone know if the new style Harley stretched bags will clear the 3" mufflers? I would prefer the slightly stretched down bags, no stretch out and no stretch back must be the new style bag.

I will also be replacing the intake manifold and rebuilding the carb. Also got a heated jacket liner that plugs into battery tender wire, it's awesome.

I would consider the truck light LED headlight too if you ride at night any... i'm sure we can come up with other stuff to help you spend that saved money on too.

Thank you, my headlight sucks but I don't ride much at night so it is currently not high on my list to replace. Anyone know of filler panels that fit between Harley bags and fender? I'm using the softail conversion brackets.

Your Headlight is on ALL THE TIME and is one of the main things that cause you to be seen even during the day. The Trucklite LED is HUGELY bright and I would consider a life saving device, not a luxury device. JMPO Besides that, it will lower the amperage use to allow you to use that fancy smancy heated jacket liner without having to upgrade your electrical See, Im actually saving you money

Cike, is this what you're referring to?

Also, is there something others have found that works well for the stock passing lamps?

Might have to get myself something for Christmas.

Wow! $50. for a TruckLight? That's insanely cheap for a new one. The seller has good references too. I have one on each of my R*s and always run them on high beam (actually both beams) during the day and approaching vehicles can really see me well. Not so good on low beam during the day as the partition in the middle blocks reflected light.

At night it's so nice that sometimes I try to ride just so I can use the flood of light.

I too have the trucklight head light and the two 4 1/2" spot lights. They are nice and put out a lot of light. Here in Pa we cannot have put the high beam on and have the spot lights on at the same time. I don't know why this is as I would think that having more light, weather it be day or night, would be better for a motorcycle.

I went with Hogworkz Halomaker set. The LEDs are whiter (hotter) than others and the main light has a LED ring around it that give way better daytime visibility than any other LED headlight I've seen.

Here's a link to their website:

They're also available through JP Cycles.
