I just stopped shaking enough to type this.

Just thought i'd share this.

Got home from work today, and had to go up to the Amish store to get some baked goods for tomorrows dinner (act like I made them )
It was 35° out but I figured I would take the bike since it was only a few miles up the road. (was on the Electra glide)
On the way back I was running about 60 mph when a Buck came running at me from out from the other side of a thin tree line in someones yard on my right side.
I was on the brakes hard. Surprisingly I didn't lock up the rear tire until the very end. (must be finally getting the hang of this emergancy braking shit after 30 years of riding)
He ran almost to the white line and stopped. As I was passing him, he turned around and ran back into the yard. I missed him by maybe 6 feet.
I don't usually get shook up at close calls anymore, but this one left me shaking and laughing for about 15 minutes afterwards.
WHAT A RUSH!!
I just kept picturing me getting stuck with his antlers.
Guess I got lucky again, or someone is watching out for me.
Rise safe guys.

Yepp you used up one life there! There was a guy who got run thru by a buck rack on hot pursuit of a female on hwy 49 a while back . My friend said it was a pretty ugly mess. guy died.

Thankfully you're Ok and were able to walk away from that incident. Unfortunately that's not always the case when it comes to avoiding wildlife on the roads. The bike I just bought had a sad story attached to it that reflects an alternative ending...when I asked the guy why he was selling the bike at such a low price his answer was that his friend was recently killed in a motorcycle vs deer encounter. Apparently his wife told him in no uncertain terms that the bike was no longer welcome in their home. Sad but true.
