What to do, what to do (with this)? 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago
Recently picked up a 2000 Roadstar with only 13k miles on it for only $1600.
Recall on transmission was done in 2012 & the title was clean & is already in my name with a shiny new license plate.
The guy knew so little about it he didn't even know where the battery was or how to get at it.
He bought it to fix up a couple months ago but going through a sudden divorce & moving to his Grandma's place so the bike had to go NOW.

It ain't pretty but it runs great, 2 brand new tires put on just 2 weeks before I bought it & everything works 100% as it should.
Went down low speed on the left side with front fender, headlight ring, left grip & windshield scuffed but nothing cracked, bent or broken (besides the signals).
Forks & handlebars are straight & on an 80+ mph test ride had zero issues - other than freezing my ass off.

I already have a pretty Roadstar (my profile pic 2006) & building a fat tire chopper Roadstar (2003).
Probably going to do something with this & sell it in the spring, it's already in my barn on a trickle charger.

Just not sure which way to go with it.
Stick a batwing fairing on it with some bags? I have one in the barn.
Completely murder it out & bob it?
Just repair the scuffed stuff & send it down the road?

What would you guys do with this?

* Crappy camera = crappy pics.
I'll try to get some better ones later.

If you're of a mind to repair, I have the stock front turn signal bar with lights (along with the mounting bracket) available. I replaced it with a light bar I bought from DocShadow.

Peace,
Joe

If you are gonna get rid of it don't do anything to it, just sell it and make about $500 or so. It's a 2000 fixing it won't make it worth any more than about $2500 and you will have more into it than that if you have to replace much of anything or do any kind of paint touch up. Flip it and let the next guy build it to his liking.

Ride it to the Pacific Northwest this spring, stay at my house free for a week as I tour you around the area, then sell it to me for what you paid for it. It’s that simple! Oops! How would you get home?

Clean it up over the winter, and sell it in the Spring when the market improves. Like Dave said, avoid any extra $$$.

You could probably sell the batwing & bags separately for more than they would add in resale on the bike.
